Solution #243: Funding to Open New Doors
Featuring: Opening New Doors to Worship, to Serve, to Connect
Client: First Christian Church of Falls Church
The Idea:
After a few years of planning, the First Christian Church of Falls Church was launching a Capital Campaign to update their mid-century church with better accessibility, building and sanctuary upgrades, as well as to improve their ministry outreach capabilities.
The Challenge:
The main challenge was capturing their story and working in all the campaign highlights and as many of the church activities within one-day of production.
The Solution:
From the onset, VIDSOL Media decided to tell their entire story through key interviews with leadership of the capital campaign committee and their parishioners. Everything was captured on a worship Sunday just weeks before the launch of this campaign video. The use of historic and current church photos, combined with architectural renderings and animations, along with access to streaming video of previous church services, VIDSOL was able to illustrate the importance of updating this mid-century church. The audience was presented with a compelling Case for Support and the need for the improvements to building systems and accessibility for all; to redesign the sanctuary for modern and different types of worship; and to improve their 50’s style kitchen and Fellowship Hall to better serve their community outreach and parish activities.
In addition to completing a seven-minute campaign launch video, VIDSOL was able to boost participation by re-purposing footage and conduct custom individual campaign pleas from those interviewed for social media outreach and follow-up campaign e-mails.
The net result, VIDSOL was able to deliver a powerful story that enhanced participation and involvement in their Capital Campaign. The program was publicly unveiled in May and the campaign closed within six weeks. The video presentation helped exceed the campaign’s goal by 24% and construction will start within a year.
